Cap badge, Polytechnic Touring Association's steam yacht 'Ceylon'
Black wool cap badge of the travel agency Polytechnic Touring Association’s steam yacht ‘Ceylon’ over a core. The badge contains a white rectangular flag of applied ribbed silk fabric embroidered with a red cross overall of twisted silk thread. The letters ‘P S Y C’ are embroidered with blue-grey silk thread and are divided between the quadrants of the flag. Applied silver coil outlines the flag and cross, while the flagstaff is made from gold coil. The flag is surrounded by laurel leaves of gold purl and stems of applied gold coil. The gold plate branches are bound at the base with gold purl. The reverse of the badge is backed with a wool blend fabric covered with a worn blue wool with a herringbone weave.
