Boat's liquid compass and binnacle

Boat's liquid compass with an orange hood. Patt 183. No. 1060.
Bowl: A brass bowl with black exterior and white interior. It has a black lubber spike. The bowl is in double gimbals and also rests in a bath of thick oil.
Card: A mica card white with black markings graduated to quarter points. It is of reduced diameter of 4" (10.2cm).
Needle: Two needles each encased in tubes attached to underside of card.
Pivot: Unsighted
Binnacle: A brass binnacle with detachable hood. Hood has fixed window and an oil lamp on side. Binnacle contains oil bath. There is a flange with holes and a gimbal stop mechanism.
Diameter 7.5" (19.0cm) O.A. Height 10.5" (26.6cm)
