Black wool cap badge of the shipping company King Line Limited, London, over a core. A white swallowtail flag of applied ribbed silk embroidered with the crest of a black rampant lion in black silk thread work, gorged with a coronet of gold purl and a chain of gold coil attached. The flag is surrounded by laurel leaves of gold purl and stems of gold coil bound at the base with gold purl.
The badge is backed with a wool blend fabric covered with the remains of black paper.
