Cap badge, Naval training school HMS Conway

Black wool cap badge for a Cadet from the naval training school ‘HMS Conway’ over a castle. On an applied red velvet shield, edged with metal purl and gold coil, there is an applied base metal foul anchor with silver purl chain. The shield is surrounded by laurel leaves of gold purl and stems of gold bullion, bound with metal purl at the base. The shield is surmounted by a castle made of gold purl and red silk thread work.
The badge is backed with a wool blend fabric covered with the remains of black paper.
