Cap
Peaked cap of cadet, Royal Naval College, Osborne. It belonged to R. J. P. Eden who died at the college on 13 October 1909 after two terms. Navy blue doeskin set on a band of stiff leather. Cap encircled with a black mohair band 1 1/2" wide to which is attached a cap badge. The peak is black patent leather as is the chin stay which is buttoned onto two japanned buttons placed immediately behind the corners of the peak. The cap badge: a wreath of gold laurel leaves surrounding a silver foul anchor embroidered on a blue cloth background with a Tudor crown above it embroidered in gold and silver. Printed on the leather 'R. J. P. Eden'.
