Inspector General of Chinese Maritime Customs Uniform
Full dress coat of Inspector-General of Chinese Maritime Customs coat. Navy blue tail coat with black silk lining in body and white silk lining in sleeves. Single breasted nine gilt buttons. Stand-up collar fastened with two hooks and eyes. The front of the coat is also fastened with hooks and eyes and has embroidered edges. Turn back cuffs.
The fronts, collar and cuffs and centre back are embroidered with gold bullrushes and leaves and are edged with gold embroidery. The back has two buttons at the waist and two at the bottom of the skirt. Domed buttons, Chinese characters within a circle of leaves, lined background. Four sewn beckets for decoration.
