Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1867-97
Petty Officer's white frock belonging to Charles Wiltshire. White drill with collar and wrist bands of blue jean. Hand and machine sewn. The collar has a border of three rows of 3/16th inches white tape, and the wrist bands are peaked with two rows of white tape along the upper margin and one along the lower, with two white metal buttons at each wrist secured with beckets. Tapes for fastening neckerchief sewn to the lower part of the neck opening. Two eyelet holes at the hip so garment can be tied to washing line.
