Course setting device for the Earth Inductor Compass
An earth conductor compass, or Teleguide, designed for tanks by Major Chapman. There were three items in the outfit but two could not be found in 1953. All that remains is the course setting device. This compass was produced in 1939; the inventor apparently knowing little of the history of these instruments. It does not appear to have been tried and there is no record of its design. Consists of a rectangular wooden box, having a knob which rotates a white plastic (?) compass card, graduated to 360 degs, which can be set to any heading against a pointer.
