Azimuth Circle
This circle consists of two semi-circular pieces joined to the centre by four radial splokes. The prism and dark shades are mounted on one of these and the sighting wire and reflector on the other. A special fitting is carried on the centre for the accommodation of a reflecting instrument for use in the adjustment of compasses. This fitting has three slots so as to be capable of being adjusted azimuthally.
