Azimuth Circle

Azimuth circle (day)
This instrument consists of four radial arms cut away in the centre to reduce weight. The prism, shades, and the sight are on two of the arms; the remaining two being used to stop the circle coming off the compass. the prism, slit and spy hole, and the two circular shades are on the back sight while the celestial reflector and open arch and thread are on the fore sight. At the centre is a fitting for a light bulb.
