Liquid compass and binnacle.

Bowl: Dia 8.5" (21.5 cm) Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base (unsighted). A flat box containing corrector magnet strips is fitted to the base of bowl. Fitted with a brass verge ring graduated to 360 deg, the verge glass has a brass stud at its centre on which an azimuth mirror can be fitted. Inside of bowl painted black with four black wire lubber lines mounted on white strips attached to sides. Mounted in a grey painted brass gimbal ring 10.6" (27.0 cm) dia.

Card: Dia 6.25" (16.0 cm) White painted mica with black markings. Graduated to 1/4 points and to 360 deg with a second set of graduations 180 deg out of phase. Attached to a black painted float at cantre.

Needle: Unsighted.

Pivot: Unsighted.

Binnacle: Grey painted metal with brass top 13.6" (34.5 cm)dia. Corrector magnets are carried on a slide on a central tube which can be turned to correct for the fore-and-aft line.
Hood: Brass with a glazed oval aperture (lid missing) on one side and a circular glazed aperture with cover on the other. An oil lamp bracket is fitted on either side (lamps missing).
