Liquid compass.

Bowl: Black painted brass, no filler plug, external expansion chamber at base. Verge glass has a brass mounting at centre to accommodate an azimuth instrument. Inside of bowl unpainted, carries one lubber line (black line on white ground on a brass strip) attached to side of bowl. Mounted in brass gimbal ring Diameter 12.0" (30.5 cm). Mounted below bowl is a brass tube with detachable cover which carries corrector magnets, these are fitted in racks supplied with graduated scales . (See patent No 24807 of 1895)

Card: Diameter 8.5" (231.5 cm) Metal painted white with black markings, graduated to 360 degrees and to 1/4 points, detached to large unpainted float dome at centre.

Neeedle: Unsighted.

Pivot: Unsighted.
