Liquid compass

Liquid compass.

Bowl: Black painted metal with domed glass with metal band over diameter. The bowl is set in grey dwarf binnacle. There is a triangular shade which is set on a ring which can turn in azimuth. The bowl is painted black inside with black lubber lines carried on white struts set 90 degrees apart. There is an inner bowl and an outer bowl both flooded with liquid. The inner bowl is set in gimbals.

Card: A white plastic card graduated to the four cardinal points and 0 - 360 in degrees. Large float at centre.

Needle: Unsighted.

Pivot: Unsighted.

Binnacle: Made of aluminium. Hood painted brown, body grey. Has one glazed window with metal flap. There are eight magnet adjuster nuts on side of binnacle and electric light on underside.
