Boat's liquid compass

Bowl: Diameter 5.5" (14.0 cm) Brown plastic, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Inside of bowl brown plastic with two lubber lines carried on white plastic strips attached to side of bowl. Corrector magnets are fitted at centre of verge glass and also a plastic azimuth sight, having open sights (the fore sight is a frame with sighting thread, the rear sight is a simple slit) a shadow pin is mounted at centre. Monted in black painted brass gimbal ring 6.25" (16 cm) in diameter.

Card: Diameter 3.9" (10.0 cm) white plastic annular ring with black markings, graduated to 360 degrees. Attached by four plastic struts to a small plastic float.

Pivot: Unsighted

Binnacle: Diameter 9.25" (23.5 cm) Brown plastic fitted with correctors of the scissor type in base and thin pieces of soft iron for correcting quadrantal deviation. Fitted with a brown plastic hood having a circular glazed aperture with cover and shutters. Hood fitted with an electric lamp.
