Boat's liquid compass with box.

Bowl: Black painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Inside of bowl painted black, with two wire lubber lines on white painted strips 180 deg apart. Mounted in black painted brass gimbal ring 6.0" (15.2 cm) dia.

Card: 4.0" (10.2 cm) mica card, painted white with black markings, graduated every 2 deg from 0 - 360 and marked at the cardinal points. Attached at centre to metal framework and pivot cup.

Needle: Six flat needles arranged in two tiers of three. (partly sighted)

Pivot: Inverted type (partly sighted)

O.A. Height 3.3" (9.1 cm)

In fitted wooden box 8" x 8" x 8" (20.3 x 20.3 x 20.3 cm) containing shadow pin.
