Bowl: Diameter 1.99" (5.0 cm) Black painted brass, the sides of the bowl form a bellows and act as a long expansion chamber. Glazed at both top and bottom. Inside of bowl black with a lubber pointer projecting from fore side. Mounted in a black painted brass ring which is pivoted for roll only.
Card: Diameter 1.2" (3.0 cm) Grey metal card with markings made by perforations gradusted to 360 degs and to 8 points.
Needle: Four flat needles carried in two tiers on a very light wire framework below card.
Pivot: Pivot stem attached to centre of glass at base of bowl. Pivot pin engages in jewelled pivot cup carried at the centre of the card.
