Bowl: Black painted brass, the sides of the bowl form a bellows and act as a long expansion chamber. Glazed at both top and bottom. Inside of bowl black.

Card: Diameter 1.2" (3.0 cm) grey metal card with markings made by perforations graduated to 360 degrees. Attached to pivot by light wire framework.

Needle: Two flat needles mounted on wire framework below card.

Pivot: Pivot stem attached to centre of glass at base of bowl. Pivot pin engages in jewelled pivot cup carried at centre of card.
