Bearing plate

A heavy white metal ring graduated to 360 degrees on upper surface and edge. Fitted with a single cross member which has the alidade pivoted at its centre. The alidade sights consist of two hinged vanes; fore sight is a frame with sighting thread, the other is a slit sight.
