Liquid compass

Liquid compass for an aircraft. Bowl: Black painted metal, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Fitted with a verge ring, graduated to 360 degrees anti-clockwise and a course indicating pointer attached at centre of verge glass. Inside of bowl painted white. Four black painted lubber lines. Mounted in black painted metal gimbal ring and attached on two supports to a wooden stand, Diameter 8.0" (20.3 cm). Card: Enamelled painted white, graduated to 360 degrees in black, with N, E, S & W shown in red, yellow, white and yellow respectively, with a pair of wings mounted on a propellor at North. Pivot mount attached at centre of card.
