Arm badge. Air Fitter or Air Mechanic (Engine), when matched with a badge with an aeroplane on it. The ranking indicated by the badge is dependent upon the year the badge was worn.
- Crown above the aeroplane and a star and an E below, indicates a Chief Airman Fitter (Engine) (hrp) or Chief Air Fitter (Engine) (hrp),
- Crown above the aeroplane and an E below indicates a Chief Petty Officer Aircraft Mechanic (Engine), or Chief Airman Fitter (Engine) or a Chief Airman Fitter (Engine) (lrp) or Aircraft Mechanic, 1st class (Engine) or Petty Officer Airman fitter (Engine) or a Petty Officer Air Fitter (Engines).
- Star above the aeroplane, star and the letter E below indicates either an Aircraft Mechanic 2nd class (Engine), Leading Airman Mechanic (Engine) or a Leading Air Mechanic (Engine).
- Star above the aeroplane and the letter E below the aeroplance indicates an Aircraft Mechanic 3rd class (Engine) or a Naval Airman Mechanic (Engine) or a Naval Air Mechanic (Engine).
