Arm badge, Fitter and Mechanic (Ordnance)
Arm badge. Air Fitter or Air Mechanic (Ordnance), when matched with a badge with an aeroplane on it. The ranking indicated by the badge is dependent upon the year the badge was worn.
- Crown above the aeroplane and a star and an O below, indicates a Chief Airman Fitter (Ordnance) (hrp) or Chief Air Fitter (Ordnance) (hrp),
- Crown above the aeroplane and an O below indicates a Chief Petty Officer (Ordnance), or Chief Airman Fitter (Ordnance) or a Chief Airman Fitter (Ordnance) (lrp) or a Chief Air Fitter (Ordnance) (lrp) or an Ordnance Man, 1st class (Ordnance) or Petty Officer Airman fitter (Ordnance) or a Petty Officer Air Fitter (Ordnance).
- Star above the aeroplane, star and the letter O below indicates either an Ordnance Man, 2nd class (Ordnance), Leading Airman Mechanic (Ordnance) or a Leading Air Mechanic (Ordnance).
- Star above the aeroplane and the letter O below the aeroplance indicates an Acting Rating Observer, an Ordnance Man 3rd class (Ordnance) or a Naval Airman Mechanic (Ordnance) or a Naval Air Mechanic (Ordnance).
- A letter O below the aeroplane indicates a Rating Observer (completed preliminary training) or a Naval Air Mechanic Ordnance, 2nd Class.
- Crown above the aeroplane and a star and an O below, indicates a Chief Airman Fitter (Ordnance) (hrp) or Chief Air Fitter (Ordnance) (hrp),
- Crown above the aeroplane and an O below indicates a Chief Petty Officer (Ordnance), or Chief Airman Fitter (Ordnance) or a Chief Airman Fitter (Ordnance) (lrp) or a Chief Air Fitter (Ordnance) (lrp) or an Ordnance Man, 1st class (Ordnance) or Petty Officer Airman fitter (Ordnance) or a Petty Officer Air Fitter (Ordnance).
