Azimuth compass - Aircraft
Consists of a magnetic needle in a small bowl 2.65" (6.7cm) in diameter mounted at centre of a black painted aluminium bearing plate. The plate is marked in white and is graduated ot 360 degs. The azimuth sight (missing) was fitted on a mounting which moves about a collar at centre of plate, the mounting is fited with a clamp and a perspex scren which carries a white lubber line. On underside of plate is a mounting bracket and clamp which locks the plate to the course being steered.
