Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1795-1812

Three buttons. Flat. Rope twist edge. Within a circular border is an oval with a rope twist inner edge and a lined background. In the centre is an anchor with the left-hand side of the stock slanting upwards. The rope is tied to the ring at the top, it goes under the right-hand side of the stock, then under the shank to the left, then back under the shank to the right and under the right arm. Captain,Commander,Lieutenant buttons.
