Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1812
Seven buttons. In 2015 only one button was found. Flat. Rope twist edge. Within a circular border is an oval with a lined background and a rope twist inner edge. Within the oval is a pre-1901 crown with an anchor below it with the stock slightly slanting towards the left. The rope is tied to the ring at the top, then goes under the right-hand side of the stock, under the shank to the left, then back under the shank to the right, then back under the shank to the left and under the left arm. Captain, commander, lieutenant and midshipman.
