Seven buttons. Four buttons have a smooth edge. Within a raised circular border on a lined background is a pre-1901 crown with R N below it and two branches of leaves crossed at the bottom go two thirds of the way up the coin. Worn when on half pay.
Three buttons have a rope twist edge. Within a raised circular border on a lined background is a pre-1901 crown with R N below it and two branches of leaves crossed at the bottom go two thirds of the way up the coin. Worn when on half pay.
