Button, Bank Line
Button once worn on uniform of the shipping company Bank Line. Gilt brass domed button with a rope twist outer border and raised inner border with a rectangular flag divided diagonally from top right to bottom left with red (indicated by vertical shading) over blue (indicated by horizontal shading). A diagonal white stripe (indicated by no shading) runs from the top left to bottom right (white bend) of the flag. The words ‘BANK LINE’ appear above the house flag.
Everything appears on lined ground.
On the reverse of the button the maker is inscribed: PAISLEY’S GLASGOW
