Master compass and binnacle

Bowl - Dia. 10" 25.4cm) Glass bowl, filler plug and expansion chamber at base. carrried in a white painted brass frame, mounted in a white painted brass gimbal ring 12" (30.5cm) dia., attached to binnacle.
Card- Dia 6.75" (17.2cm) Black mica with white markings, graduated to 1/4 points and to 360 degs. Electrical contacts are mounted below the card.
Azimuth mirror- "Thomson type" dia. 10.25" (26cm) Black painted brass circle with mirror mounted on framework at centre.
Binnacle- Dwarf "Kelvin type" dia. 16" (40.6cm). Wood with grey painted brass fittings. fitted with clinometer; Flinders Bar 24.75" (62.8cm) long, double doors at base give access to electrical mechanism and follow-up meter, fore-and-aft and athwartship corrector magnet rack, and a vertical brass tube containing the vertical corrector magnets.
Hood- Grey painted brass with an oval glazed aperture at one side, and a circular aperture with cover at top.
