Button, Commonwealth and Dominion Line (C&D Line)
Two buttons worn on the uniform of the shipping company Commonwealth and Dominion Line. Gilt brass domed buttons with rope twist outer border and raised inner border. Rectangular white (indicated by no shading) flag with blue (indicated by horizontal shading) saltire overall under a red (indicated by vertical shading) cross. Raised words ‘C&D’ above flag and ‘LINE’ below.
On the reverse of the buttons the maker is inscribed 'HARVEYS' LONDON'.
There is also corrosion on the reverse of both of the buttons.
