Path Indicator
Black painted metal case. Across the centre of one side are mounted three dials. The centre dial is marked "HEAD FOR THE STAR" & "PATH". The left dial is marked "DISTANCE". The right dial is marked "DEPARTURE". Above the three dials is a glazed arc through which a vertical compass card, graduated to 1/4 points and to 360 degrees, can be seen. This is marked "COMPASS".
