Alidade
This instrument consists of an oblong base cut away with a crossbar, swollen, at centre. The crossbar hold the hole which accommodates the compass spigot. both sights are hinged. The back sight is a slit with two spy holes while the fore sight is an open arch with sighting thread. The thread runs along the full length of the base.
