Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1795-1807
Four buttons. Flat. Smooth edge. Within a raised circular border is a fouled anchor with the rope tied to the ring at the top, then it goes diagonally under the stock from the right to the left, appearing under the left-hand side of the stock, then goes under the shank to the right and under the right fluke. Two laurel branches on the outside edge of the button, going two thirds of the way around the buttons. Design introduced in 1787 slightly smaller from 1795. Flag officer.
