Liquid compass

Bowl- Black painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base, glazed bottom, heavy balancing ring attached around base of bowl. Inside of bowl painted white with four black lubber lines, each secured top and bottom of bowl.
Card- Diameter 7.5" (19cm). Mica (?) covered with white paper with black markings graduated to 1/4 points and to 360 degs attached by wire framework to large white painted float at centre.
Needle-Six cylindrical; 2 x 2.5" (6.3cm), 2 x 4" (10.2cm), 2 x 4.75" (12cm) long, mounted on wire framework below float.
Pivot-Stem attached at centre of glass bottom of bowl, the rest of unit is unsighted.
