Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1827-1834
Button. Rope twist edge. Within a raised circular border on a lined background is a pre-1901 crown above a fouled anchor with the stock slanting slightly down to the right. The rope is tied to the ring at the top and goes over the right-hand stock, under the shank to the left, then over the shank to the right to finish under the right arm. In use between 1827 - 1834 for Captain, Commander, Master, Surgeon, Purser, Midshipman.
