Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1774-1812
Button. Flat button. Smooth edge. On a smooth background is a fouled anchor with the rope tied to the ring at the top. It goes under the right-hand stock, then over the shank to the left, then under the shank to the right, under the right-hand fluke, curls under the crown and then comes under the left-hand fluke and out to the left. Captain, Commander, Master and Mate, Surgeon, Purser, Warrant Officer and Midshipman.
