Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1841-1856
Four buttons showing the design worn by engineers in the Royal Navy in 1841-56. The button, of gilt brass, features a beam engine under a crown on a lined ground. The edge is an outer rope twist border with an inner, raised flat border. The three smaller buttons were made by R.E. Hayward, while the largest button was made by Firmin.
