Button, Royal Marines uniform: pattern 1830
Two buttons. Flat. Smooth edge. On a smooth background, around the bottom edge going up either side is a wreath of leaves. Around the top edge is ROYAL MARINES. In the centre is a pre-1901 crown above a fouled anchor. The rope is tied to the ring and goes over the left-hand stock, then goes under the shank to the right , then over the shank to the left and finishes under the left arm, curling under the crown.
