Button, Royal Marine Artillery uniform: pattern 1825

Button. Smooth edge. On a smooth background around the bottom is a wreath of leaves. Around the top is ROYAL MARINES . In the centre is a pre-1901 crown with a fouled anchor below it with the rope tied to the ring at the top, goes over the right-hand stock, then under the shank to the left, then over the shank to the right and finishes under the right arm. A grenade is at the end of both the left and right-hand side of the stock.
