Boat's liquid compass

Bowl-Black painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Inside of bowl painted white with four black lubber lines painted on side. Mounted in a black painted brass gimbal ring 3.5"" (9cm) dia. In wooden box 4.5 x 4.5 x 3.5" (11.4 x 11.4 x 8.9cm).
Card-Dia: 2" (5.1cm). Width 0.5" (1.3cm). Mica (?) painted white with black markings, graduated by 5 to 360 degrees and to1/2 points.
Needle- Single flat bar type 2" (1cm) wide, with jewelled pivot cup mounted at centre.
