Waterman's cap
Waterman's cap. Wool with a leather lining and sweat band. With a hemispherical crown and peak which was originally turned up. The appliqued and padded crest of a helmetted head is embroidered on the white underside of the peak. The seams of the wool gores covering the leather crown are ornamented with white cord and the blue crown has a white turned-up edge. There is a white cord fringe round a blue button on the top of the crown. Hand sewn.
