Boat's Liquid Compass and Binnacle
Bowl-Black painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Inside of bowl painted white with black painted lubber line on side. Mounted in black painted brass gimbal ring 6" (15.2cm) diameter.
Card-Diameter 4" (10.2cm). Dished metal (?),painted white with black markings, graduated to1/4 points. Attached by framework to white painted float at centre.
Needle-Two needles of circular section,mounted below float.
Binnacle-Black painted copper, of the square type. Having a carrying handle at top and an angled glazed window at front. an oil lamp carrier is fitted to side. Dims.: 7 x 7.25 x 10" (17.8 x 18.4 x 25.4cm)
