Mariners liquid compass (vertical card compass for landing craft)
Bowl-Black painted metal, filler plug at top, expansion chamber at base. Electric lamp fitting and A and B correctors at top. Inside of bowl painted black. A wire lubber line is fitted behind verge glass and appears to be integral with pivot stem mounting.
Card-Very light vertical skeleton rim with cut-out numerals, graduated to 360 degs attached by wire framework to pivot at centre.
Needle-Two edge bar magnets mounted below card.
Pivot-Inverted, jewel cup mounted on stem attached to base of bowl.
