Solid half-basket hilted sword, which belonged to Honorary Lieutenant Sidney Crowley (active 1882-1905), Royal Naval Artillery Volunteer. The hilt of the sword consists of a gilt solid half-basket guard, with raised bars and a crown and anchor badge. There is a folding flap on the inside of the guard with a hole to engage the stud in the top locket. The sword has a lion's-head pommel. The white fish-skin grip is bound with three gilt wires. The sword knot consists of blue and gold rope with a blue and gold tassel with blue and gold threads. The Wilkinson pattern steel blade is straight, flat-backed with a double-edged spear point. The black leather scabbard has two gilt lockets and chape.

Wilkinson sold the sword to Honorary Lieutenant Sidney Crowley in January 1877.
