Dirk
Straight bladed dirk, the hilt of the dirk consists of a gilt crosspiece, the lower side of which is embossed with a leaf design. The pommel was originally a lion's head with a rope surround but this has been lost and has been replaced by a turned brass knob. The ivory grip is decorated with turned rings. The straight steel blade is diamond sectioned. The obverse of the blade is engraved '...rke [O. Burke] ROCHESTER'. The reverse of the blade appears to be decorated with the remnants of a monogram. The black leather scabbard has a gilt locket, ring, and chape.
