Liquid compass and binnacle

Bowl-Dia:12.6" (32cm) Grey painted brass, two filler plugs at side, expansion chamber at base. Fitted with a high-domed verge glass which has a brass spigot at top, on which an azimuth mirror can be located. Inside of bowl painted black.The bowl contains an inner bowl which holds the card, gimballed and sprung in the outer bowl. The inner bowl has four black lubber lines carried on white plastic strips, and is free-flooding.
Card-Dia: 7" (17.8cm) Black plastic with white markings, graduated to 360 degs. Attached to large black float at centre.
Binnacle-Dia: 16.3" (41.5cm) Grey painted aluminium with aluminium fittings. Fitted with a hand-rail around the top. A door in the side gives access to the correcting magnets consisting of four carriage slides on a vertical tube which carries the horizontal magnets. Hood-Grey painted aluminium with a round glazed aperture with shutters.
