Liquid compass

Bowl: Grey-painted brass, two filler plugs at side, expansion chamber at base. Fitted with high domed spherical glass with spigot at centre to which is attached a triangular shade. Brass verge ring graduated to 360 degrees. Bowl contains an inner bowl of black painted brass 7.9" (20.0 cm) diameter, fitted with frosted glass bottom. Inside of bowl painted black with four black luber lines carried on white plastic strips mounted 90 degrees apart and secured to base of bowl. The bowl is free flooding. Mounted in double gimbal rings of black painted brass.

Card: Dia 7.1" (18.0 cm) white plastic? ring with black markings, graduated to 360 degrees. Attached to a large black-painted float at the centre.
