Bowl: Black painted brass, electric light fitting at base with heavy balancing weight. Glazed top. Inside of bowl painted black with four white lubber lines painted on side. Verge ring engraved with four lubber lines. Mounted in a black-painted brass gimbal ring 10.0" (25.5 cm) dia., which is carried in a black-painted brass U-shaped bracket with wedge mounting plate and shoe.

Card: Dia 7.5" (19.0 cm) black plastic with a white outer ring having black markings, graduated to 360 degrees with a second set of reversed graduations 180 degrees out of phase. The card is turned by a 'T' handle mounted at centre of verge glass and is clamped by a knurled knob.

Azimuth sight: Black-painted brass open frame 9.0" (23.0 cm) long, with cross bar at centre. At one end is a folding open frame 5.9" (15.0 cm) high (complete with thread), at the other end there is a schmalcalder type prism with a sighting slit above. It is secured on the central spigot of card below the 'T' handle.
