Corrector magnet carrier
Corrector magnet carrier
Grey painted aluminium corrector magnet box seized from the Deutsche Seewarte in 1945 which would fit on the tube of a "KM" type binnacle. A triangular key can be used to operate, by worm gear, two pairs of fore-and-aft and one pair of athwartships magnets. These are 2.4" x 1.4" x 0.45" (6.0 x 3.5 x 1.5 cm) with rounded ends. Graduated scales indicate the positions of the magnets. From the finish, this is probably an experimental set.
