Hanger
Stirrup hilted hanger, which is thought to have belonged to Admiral of the Fleet Sir Cloudesley Shovell (1650-1707). The hanger consists of a brass stirrup hilted guard and a French style 'montmerency' steel blade. The leather scabbard is decorated with blind tooling and the chape is missing.
