Slotted hilted hanger, the hilt of the hanger consists of a gilt brass slotted guard. The hanger has a gilt brass lion's-head pommel. The polished black ebony (probably) grip is bound with copper wire. The steel blade is broad and curved. The brown leather scabbard has a gilt top locket and chape. The hanger is part of the Spinney Collection, which is made up of sixteen swords, five dirks and three pistols.
