Compass card

Dry compass

Card: This consists of a wide paper covered mica band with a large hole in the centre. The paper is white with black markings graduated to 1/4 points and quadrantally in degrees. There is a metal frame work beneath the card which holds the pivot cap and needles.

Pivot: Is of aluminium with a spike in the centre so that the card rests in a pivot cap.

Needle: There are eight needles independantally mounted on the metal frame work, they are all 2.25" (5.8 cm) long.

Decorated at the North point with the initials GH superimposed as a logo.
